Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) is a member-driven, non-profit organization committed to advancing Saskatchewan’s export industry by connecting provincial businesses with global markets. Established in 1996, STEP supports export growth through expert services, market development programs and collaborative partnerships with trade-related entities.
The President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of STEP is accountable to the Board of Directors for the organization’s operations, ensuring alignment with approved policies and budgets. The President & CEO provides visionary leadership to advance STEP’s mission of promoting and facilitating Saskatchewan’s export growth while working with key stakeholders such as the provincial government. Key responsibilities include executing the Strategic Plan, enhancing member programs and services, maintaining financial stability through effective operating plans and ensuring successful program implementation aligned with organizational objectives.
The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong track record of providing strategic direction and senior leadership within organizations serving diverse government and business stakeholders. They bring established credibility within the business community and possess leadership experience in export markets, including engagement with governance boards, alignment of broad stakeholder interests and collaboration with government entities. They exhibit a clear strategic mindset, aligning organizational vision with actionable strategy, synthesizing diverse perspectives and driving unified, goal-oriented execution. The successful candidate will bring personal energy to their relentless relationship building.

STEP is seeking a highly organized and confident individual to provide program and administrative support to the Marketing & Membership Development and the Trade Development teams.
Your role will assist our team of professionals that organize outgoing and incoming trade missions, trade events and provide market research for exporting companies throughout the province. This position will also assist with the delivery of programs, corporate events and various marketing initiatives.
You will report directly to the Vice President, Marketing & Membership Development.
Required knowledge & technical skills include:

Your role is to promote Saskatchewan’s export interests in the manufacturing and technology sector. You will undertake trade development activities to advance opportunities for Saskatchewan exporters, both nationally and internationally, that support their pursuit of sales, contracts and projects.
Primary responsibilities include counseling exporters on international market opportunities and strategies, organizing outgoing trade missions and attracting international buyers to Saskatchewan. Strong sales/marketing/business development, communication and project management skills are necessary to generate results and work with the network of Saskatchewan exporters, partner organizations and international contacts. This is a full-time permanent position.
